What is Quordle?

Quordle is Wordle times four. You guess four five-letter words at the same time: every guess is applied to all four boards, and you have nine attempts to solve them all. It was created in January 2022 during the Wordle boom and was acquired by Merriam-Webster the same year.

Alongside the Daily Quordle there is a Daily Sequence mode where the boards are solved one at a time, plus Chill, Extreme and Rescue variants.

How to play Quordle

Enter a five-letter word; each of the four boards colours its tiles independently. Keep guessing until all four words are found or you run out of the nine attempts. The Sequence mode only shows one board at a time, so each guess must serve the board you are on.

When does the new Quordle come out?

A new Quordle unlocks at midnight in your local time zone. We publish hints and answers as soon as the puzzle is available and keep every previous day in the archive above.

Quordle strategy and tips

1. 1Open with three coverage wordsGuesses like SLATE, CRONY and BUMPH test fifteen different letters across all four boards.
2. 2Solve the board you knowOnce a board is clearly solvable, solve it; the solve still gives information to the others.
3. 3Track letters per boardEach board colours the keyboard separately. Switch boards to check before guessing.
4. 4Save guesses for the endNine guesses sounds generous, but the last two boards often need two each.
5. 5Watch for shared lettersA letter yellow on three boards is probably in the fourth too.
